Miles Inc was a pharmaceutical company wholly owned by Bayer, until it was fully absorbed into the parent company. Some time before that, they released this recording of works by Verdi, Brahms, Mozart, von Weber, and more, recorded by an orchestra, wind ensemble and male choir all funded by Bayer. Oddly, on the back cover, the groups are credited as "of Miles' parent company," not Bayer.
While that's unusual, promotional CDs made by pharma companies weren't all that uncommon. They were often given away by sales reps to clients and doctors. We have two of these, new and sealed, in a fluorescent green jewel case. I might never get the full story on how this was made, but if you were a doctor (or a lackey for Big Pharma) back in the day, this CD of classical music might stir some memories!
