Cruz and La Buena Vida won Best Tropical/Salsa Band of the Year at the Midwest Tejano Music Awards and have been a staple on the Michigan and midwestern Latin music scene for decades. An incarnation of the band later emerged as the Cruz Brothers Band with a more Latin-influenced rock sound.
